Recently finished up The Meaning of Marriage by Tim and Kathy Keller after going through it as a class at church on Sunday evenings. One of the best books on marriage, singleness and all things related, that I’ve ever read. The Kellers take such a balanced approach to things. Written in partnership with his wife, Kathy, Tim Keller brings us another theologically rich, practical and accessible resource. If I had to pick one word to describe this book, it would be ‘balanced’. The Kellers are very careful to hold up marriage as good and honorable, but make sure it does not take an idolatrous position. They do the same for singleness. Their approach to intimacy in marriage is unique (at least for me) and their explanation of the role our spouse plays in growing us into the image of Christ is wonderful. I found myself challenged greatly by this book. An excellent study, especially for the young marrieds to go through as it will set a solid foundation to prepare them for difficult times they will indefinitely have in their marriage. Highly recommend you pick up a copy today and make your way through this one (single, dating, engaged or married – the material here is for all of us).
